How much neuroscience is too much in the classroom?
An article in Nature Reviews Neuroscience, and reported on by The Guardian, discusses some neurononsense that has unfortunately made its way into classrooms across the world. We don't really use just 10% of our brain, and people aren't left- or right-brained, so why do so many teachers (and the general public) believe these and similar ideas? The situation isn't harmless, as teachers may be basing their instruction on the latest neuromyth. What can be done to improve how the neuroscience and psychology of learning are used in classrooms?
